The festive season is a time for indulgent desserts and they don’t need to be hard to make. This year, elevate your gatherings with a luxurious chocolate Affogato that will leave everyone craving more.
Chocolate Affogato
Create a decadent Affogato by pouring over a decadent chocolate sauce and using our dark chocolate spoons for decoration.
50g dark chocolate, - 70% Cocoa Solids Dark Chocolate Drops - Devonport Chocolates
20g unsalted butter, we used Lewis Road Creamery
4 large scoops of vanilla icecream, Lewis Road Madagascan Vanilla
4 long shots of espresso, we recommend Coffee Beans – Chiasso Coffee
Shot of Irish cream or bourbon (A little bit special)
Method
Melt the chocolate and butter with a pinch of sea salt in a heatproof bowl over a pan of gently simmering water, then remove.
Roll your ice cream into nice round scoops and divide between four teacups.
Scatter over the sliced or crumbled walnuts, pour a shot of hot espresso into each cup, stick a walnut proudly on top, then drizzle over the melted chocolate and add a chocolate spoon.
